Beer Butt Chicken 

Ingredients: 
1 cup butter or margarine
2 tablespoons garlic salt
2 tablespoons paprika
salt and pepper to taste
1 (12 ounce) can beer, any kind
1 whole (2 to 3 pound) fryer/broiler chicken

Directions: 
1 Preheat grill for low heat. 
2 In a small skillet, melt 1/2 cup butter or margarine. Add 1 tablespoon garlic salt, 1 tablespoon paprika, and salt and pepper to taste. 
3 Pour out 1/2 of beer in can. Add 1/2 cup of butter or margarine to beer can. Then add 1 tablespoon garlic salt, 1 tablespoon paprika, and salt and pepper to taste. Place beer can on disposable baking sheet. Set chicken on can, inserting can into the cavity of the chicken. Baste chicken with melted seasoned butter or margarine. 
4 Place baking sheet with beer and chicken on grill. Cook over low heat for about 3 hours, or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear. 
Makes 4 servings
