Sour Cream Potato Soup

5 pounds of Idaho potatoes
1 large onion
1 pound of bacon
1 stick of butter
1 quart of Half/Half
8oz of Sour Cream with Chives (if can't find 
SC w/Chives use regular sour cream I do sometimes)
salt/pepper to taste

Peel and dice potatoes and onions. Put them in a large pot and just
cover with water and boil until they are just about done. While your
potatoes and onions are cooking cook bacon and crumble. Add bacon and
other ingredients to the potatoes, onion and water. Simmer until
potatoes finish cooking.
